| ASBESTOS
As
required by law, I need to report to you that
we have asbestos in our school building. Asbestos
was found to be in some of our plaster and floor
tile in the 1925 and 1954 editions of the school
building. Asbestos was also indicated to be in
our pipe wrappings in the 1925 and 1954 editions
of our building. These locations are monitored
on a regular basis and are kept in a non-friable
condition. This means that it is safe with the
normal upkeep practices of painting and waxing.
We do have some damaged areas of asbestos in the
pipe tunnel which is located under the 1925 and
1954 editions of our school building. Entrances
to this tunnel are well sealed and only trained
persons like Mr. Carl Kosbab, our custodian, are
allowed to enter this tunnel. A designated person,
Mr. Jack Niles, makes visual inspections of the
areas identified as containing asbestos materials
every six months to make sure that they are in
good condition.
